Might actually get to use it in OK.

Nahhhh... 12ga. would be better!
I've often wondered if its true, (that a rattlesnake is fast enough to strike a passing bullet), or is it an old wives tail?

When I was stationed at Ft Sill, The battalion Executive Officer had a Bobcat as a pet (by the name of Bob) of course. He lived just on the edge of Cache Oklahoma in a heavily snake populated area. The bobcat had 23 confirmed rattlesnake kills in his back yard alone, and thats not to forget what the Battalion XO had himself and in the first part of summer.

Me, I'm with you on the use of a shotgun first.

Yes. I'm medically retired. My brother was in the Army as well and was once stationed at Fort Sill (another tie that I have to Oklahoma!).

I was stationed at Ft Sill back "79' to "82" then it was off to Hawaii for 3 years and Bragg for a year. Then in "91" I went back in as a Navy SeaBee, retired after 21yrs in 2006.

I thank you for your service to our Country. My brother would have been at Sill from about 1986-88.
