Default oilfield job

I'm looking for an oilfield job. I know there are rigs in the Atoka area. Can someone tell me where they are located? Or do you know of any leads to an oilfield job? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Um, well no I don't know of any around here.. All I know about the drilling situation right now is that some company was putting thousands of wells in NW Arkansas. Sorry I can't be of more help.

If I wanted to work in the oilfield, I would go hang out in the cafes in Coalgate or Calvin at lunchtime, and announce I was looking for work.

Not sure exactly where you are wanting to look at, but my husband worked for a company headquarted in Tulsa called Pan Oak Oil & Gas. However, they worked out north of Skiatook, Ramona basically. I just know the 'shop' was off Hwy 11, about 10 miles north of Hwy 20. They don't really have much on benefits, but it was a decent outfit and he worked there for quite some time.

He also spent time years ago working on rigs out in the Woodward area (western OK) for Hickman Drilling, but those were the bigger oil rigs and I know they traveled (of course) to every site, sometimes driving a couple hours or more to a jobsite, so no telling where the rigs actually were ha, it was before we met. I know he used to say working on the gas wells after the oil rigs felt like working with tinker toys .

If you have any experience (and maybe even no experience is OK) and are anywhere around the Tulsa area, I would definitely check out Pan Oak. If you have experience, you KNOW oilfield work is not for the faint of heart and they almost always need guys. Good luck!

Suzanne

You might contact the local Workforce Oklahoma (usually referred to as the unemployment office.) My husband works at Workforce Oklahoma in another area and they have a lot of people come in looking for oilfield work and are usually able to help them. I did a search and it seems the closest one to Atoka is in Antlers. Here is the phone number: 580-298-3854. Good luck!
