Default Cherokee 2008 Troop Supply Drive – May 14 – June 2

Quote:
As a tribe a good number of our members serve in the military or are veterans, including some of our staff. That is why it is important that we support our men and women in uniform and their families. The Cherokee Nation officially “adopted” the 45 th Infantry Brigade, a reserve unit from right here in northeastern Oklahoma. Many of these soldiers are Cherokee. The Cherokee Nation supports the group in many ways: One of which is supply drives like the one going one right now.

The seven Cherokee Casino locations throughout northeast Oklahoma will be collecting items through the month of May to ship to troops abroad. The drive is being held in May to coincide with Memorial Day, to remember veterans while helping active duty soldiers. For a full list of supplies for our troops, visit:
Cherokee Nation | Services | Human Services | Veterans Affairs | Cherokee Nation Office of Veterans Affairs
The list of stuff is cheap. things like foot powder, and disposable razors. Whether or not you support the war, support for our sons and daughters living and working in harms way should be universal.
