Default Driving around Oklahoma (Road Trip Pics)

We went to OKC last week and visited the OKC Memorial and part of Bricktown. Here is what it looked like on the way...

Our Route (missed the turnoff at Chickasha, so we "detoured" through Elgin and Sterling! )

Beautiful Day for a drive...

Springtime in Southern Oklahoma! The wildflowers are blooming...

Busy place, must have good food.

Right around Velma... the $weet $mell of Oklahoma Crude.

Hennepin...

Yup, Nothing but flat, brown and treeless in these parts.

Treasure Valley Casino

Only 66 miles to go!

The JEH Stallion Station

Plenty of Red Clay out there...

Wash/ita Gaming Center

Oooh! Antiques in Downtown Purcell!

Uh Oh... Road Work ahead

This way to Purcell...

Oh Boy...this is gonna take awhile. At least it is pretty and they are mowing, so it smells nice.

Riverwind Casino

Entering Cleveland County

They have a TJ Maxx and a Circuit City!

Passing Norman

Yummy! Free Samples! (Too bad we don't have time. )

Going by Moore

Next Post into the City!!...

Great pics, LR. I feel like I was actually there. I can't wait until all the "necessary" things are done with regard to our relocation, and we can start taking road trips like that. There's just soooo much to see!

Almost there!

Oooh! Aaah! BIG Buildings!

Our first stop to take care of some business...

A plaque inside of the DEQ offices

The DEQ Parking Garage

Across from the DEQ

One of the "Centennial Buffalo" around town

The Regency Tower

I put my pictures of the OKC Memorial in a separate album and left them full size. It was particularly touching (and difficult) photographing the Tiles that the children had made...

great pics, but when you drove through Norman you should have taken a pic of that magnificent football stadium, Owen Field, where our National Champion Oklahoma Sooners play

really, great great pics, been a long time since I've been to Marlow.

Colleen, We have been here 4 years and we are just now getting "settled" enough to take a few road trips! (Hopefully it will be easier with the new job. )

We were on a tight schedule, and didn't get to explore off the Highway this time. Next time maybe!
Did you see the ones I posted awhile back when we drove through Marlow? I need to get back up there and wander the side-streets more... I just love the houses up there.
