I am sorry about your difficulties as I understand that California is probably one of the most expensive states to reside in the United States. I am glad that you have considered Oklahoma your home and I can assure you that you will not regret your decision. I have all the respect in the world for transplants because all they want is a new start in a new state to better their lives. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. So enjoy Oklahoma and may you have a prosperous quality of life.

 Thank you
It is going to be strange this Thanksgiving going back for the holiday and not living there, and I'm sure I'll be even happier to go home. Its not easy to make the decision to leave where your a third generation native and the family lives, and apparently a lot of people never have the nerve. But then, if you don't try, you'll never know.
Already enjoying the quality of life every time I walk through my *house* and follow the dog around the *yard* (no fence yet) or sit in my office that isn't also a bedroom. I think a lot of us transplants who came for what was there will be very vigelent in keeping it that way.

I left the family behind and that is the big holiday when everyone comes. So I have to be there. Couldn't miss that. I'll have to go to walmart and get some pictures printed too since everyone will want to see them lol.
I can't wait until we get the inside stuff done so I might be able to encourage someone to visit me. But I want it all shiny and pretty first. Love my hardwood floors and want to show them off!
What am I going to do when all the improvents are done?

I say use your home to its fullest potential. Maybe one year, have everybody come from California to your home in Oklahoma for a huge Thanksgiving dinner to celebrate your new life in Oklahoma and have fun with it.

Ah, would be nice. Twenty some people would cost a bundle though.
My son will be visiting during the summer and that will be cool. Too bad in todays economy it costs so much to travel.
I do like the house as an ongoing project. Means I should watch the home and garden channel diligently again

Yeah, it seems to be expensive to travel in any form of transportation (vehicle, plane, train) these days. Have fun with your housing project and hope you get a lot out of the home and garden channel. Welcome to Oklahoma!

They also say that people in Dallas are snotty but I haven't encountered that yet. If people say they really are, that is not stopping me from relocation there. I gotta keep the passion alive.

Autotech, you have a great attitude. I have no doubt whatsoever that you'll be successful in whatever you do. You not only have a great attitude but you're obviously intelligent as well.
You'll probably end up running a fleet of Honda dealership service departments by the time you are thirty or so.
Keep those dreams alive, you'll never regret it.
