Don't worry about it. Plenty of people will be friendly and talk to you, all you have to do is talk back to them. Anyone who doesn't bother to say something probably wouldn't be someone yuu'd want to know anyway. What still boggles me is how polite the kids are, and how if you ask someone for a favor, they end up making it seem like YOU are doing THEM a favor by asking in the first place!

I totally agree. The kids here are very nice and polite. I am just amazed that every store I go too, people are always striking up a conversation and not just the cashiers.

Hi, I am originally from Okalhoma. I have moved away and now come back home. I AM hoping to go back to a big city someday. So, tell me, do you feel like you have gone back in time since moving here? lol. OK is about 25 years behind the rest of America.

Yes, and please tell everyone that. We like to discourage others from moving there.

Hi Tayn, welcome to the forum. AWWWW, if only many areas of the country would be 25 years back in time. Things may be a bit more civil.
My area of the country has always been considered to be behind in time, too and that's the type of areas we like.

Now I don't live in Oklahoma, but I hear that its still behind the times. So please keep it to yourself, we want it to be that way when the wife and I move there some day.
Oh, and welcome to the best page on CDF.

Oh don't worry about it. Okies will meet you wherever you're at. They'll just be excited that someone from another part of the country is enjoying the Okie Way. If you don't mind being loved, Okies are happy to oblige. Blessings.

From my observation of 9 months of living here I thought they were years ahead of Utah where I moved from. Come back you will love it!
