Our road trip this time was for one purpose... to find the much talked about J&W Grill in Chicksha, OK.

We drove passed it a week ago and the smell coming out of this tiny place was
heavenly!
So here we go...
Passed the wheat fields and the corn fields:
Boomer Sooner Baby!
Here we are the corner of 5th street and Choctaw ave.
It is a small place, so I'd recommend getting there on "off-peak" hours... we rolled in at 11:00am and had no problem getting a seat but it filled up FAST. Just stools at the counter, and a couple of benches behind for the ones who are waiting.
The sign in the window says they are open M-W 6am-2pm and Th-Sat 6am-9pm (Besides the awesome Fried Onion Burgers and Coneys they make breakfast! Biscuits and Gravy! Whoo!
Talk about service with a smile!

These folks don't just provide good service they will spoil you rotten!

Don't let the minimal looking "menu" fool you! That is just the
basics of your meal... You tell them how you want it and with your choice of toppings... None of that "No substitutions allowed" garbage in this place! You want your burger upside down with pickles on the side... No Problem!
Are you hungry yet?
Good! You better be! You want fries with that burger? Here they are...fresh and hot and crispy:
How about a nice cold root beer that gets re-filled every time you take a few sips? (And a top off before you hit the road!)
And finally the BURGER! Oooh baby! They serve this with a fork and you will need it! Hiding under that bun is about 1/3 lb of Fresh Hamburger (grilled right in front of you) Cheese, Lettuce, Pickles and Tomatoes. Those were MY choices anyway.

The Mayo, Ketchup and Mustard are on the counter so you can add as much or as little as you like...
I smashed the bun turning it around.
Both of us are big eaters and we couldn't finish the whole thing! Price for all that yummy food (for two) was $13 and change.
We
ARE going back... We watched way too many mouth watering Coneys go by! Smothered in chili and piled high with toppings...
