But these Bowl games, especially one like the Fiesta bowl, even if they aren't for the National Championship, put your team, your school, your city, your state, and your conference in the national spotlight for not only the evening, but he entire week leading up to the event. To not prepare and execute to the level that you are capable is an embarrassment, that's all I'm saying briansgi.
If the same scenario unfolds again this upcoming season, and they perform the same way, are you telling me that you won't be supremely disgusted and demand better?
Never mind, being a Sooner fan I know you would.

Blasphemy in Oklahoma....
I'm going to risk being unpopular here (like that would be a first for me ).
and tell you that in the rest of the country, college football isn't near as big a deal as it seems to be here in OK....
BTW....
Before you all start throwing tomatoes at me,
(And I know you will! )
please take the time to ensure that they are not
those new tainted tomatoes we've all been reading about...
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Football in Oklahoma is very big CG. It's like hockey up North; it's a part of our fabric - something we grew up with and it makes us happy.
I think a large part of this fascination with the pigskin is Fall itself. It's a time where the weather calms down and we can look forward to cooler temperatures and relief from the excruciating heat of Summer.
And although it starts in late August while the temps are still hovering around 100 degrees, the promise of cool evenings and crisp days are just around the corner.

OMG!!! Oklahoma and football go together like peanut butter and jelly, like Laverne and Shirley, like Adam and Eve!! Shame on you, it's a religion in this state, well at least for me it is!! I grew up in SE Kansas and watched those incredible wish bone teams of Barry Switzer "hang half a hundred on em" and was simply mesmerized by that offense! You can't beat tradition, it's like the Yankees and baseball, OU football is steep in tradition and no one can ever take that away!!
Boomer Sooner baby!!

If OU or OSU fielded a team like New Hampshire or Mass does, it wouldn't be much here either........and if you expressed that opinion in the Texas, Nebraska, Florida, Ohio or California forums, you might be dodging tainted tomatoes that are at least 6 months old.
