Default Tahlequah/Stilwell Jobs

Hi Everyone! I am new to the site. I found you all about a week ago and have been reading and reading and reading. We went to Tahlequah about 2 years ago and were there for 4 months. (I was pregnant, we were scared, we came back). Anyways, my parents own land there (between the two cities) that we can buy. My brother has bought some and is trying to farm there. he's been there for years. We have felt that we are maybe suppose to go back. We have started getting back to nature with the foods we eat and all that. We started a garden here (arizona) but so far nothing. Our lease is up here in Nov. We both want to move and get started on things there but dh needs to have a job first. Does anyone have any tips for finding something there? He would like to do something close so that he isn't spending lots of time driving and can do work around home. He is a System Admin. here. He would prefer to stay in his field of course but is willing to do other things if he can find something that pays and will support us while we get going there. I have searched online but it seems hard to find anything that way. I know both towns are small so maybe there is a better way?

Either way I love reading what you all are doing. I think this is the only message board on here (OK one) that people are generally very happy about their state. I know I looked at the AZ one and they are a grumpy lot. LOL

Thanks!
Bonnie

First off, welcome! If I were your husband, I would look at being employed at Northeastern University. I'm sure System Admin jobs aren't plentiful around there. There appear to be a lot of IT jobs in Tulsa, but word of mouth tells me that most of those jobs aren't readily available for some reason or another.

Look in the Tahlequah newspaper (if they have one). Jessaka lives in the area, perhaps she can help you out.

Good luck!

Might be some work in Western Arkansas with the chicken and Campbell and hungry man dinner companies. Also Stilwell has a pretty good produce canner as well. Other than that, I have no idea.........

Tahlequah Daily Press - Classifieds

Now I know that they have more ads in the paper than this.

My husband wanted to live in Arizona or New Mexico. I said, I want a garden. What can you grow in those States, Cacti. We moved here. I have my garden.

I am happy about a lot of things in OK, and dissatisfied with just a few. Still, I wouldn't live elsewhere.
