Default Need help planning a trip to Oklahoma

I plan on taking my kids to Oklahoma before the summer is over. I am looking for some great fun that will not cost a lot. I have not been there since I was a kid so I am not sure what all to do. I will be coming from the DFW area and plan on no more than three to five days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest the Southeastern part of the state, in the Ouachita mountains (generally about 1/2 the height of the Appalachian Mountains). It's several hundred square miles that cover the Southeastern part of Oklahoma and is absolutely beautiful. It's closer to DFW than most parts of the state, and very scenic. I live in DFW as well, btw.

Rent a cabin up in Broken Bow and enjoy the vacation of your life, if you're into nature. That's what I would do..

Sorry, I just read about "not costing alot." In my opinion, the cabin rentals are rather expensive. You might check out the Turner Falls area.

Turner Falls Park, Davis, Oklahoma
