Lightbulb I missed it!

My handydandy little planner kicked back into life, now that the Microsoft update hassles are all over and done, and I realized the Great Duncan Garage Sale is over and done with, too!

Just great. You gonna pick up whatever I win? Like in Orlando, FL? Or City of Industry, CA, or NYC?

So you add about 10.00 to the winning bid. The first time I had something delivered by UPS, it took the guy 4 days to FIND my house! When I complained, they said I could pick it up in Shawnee if I was in a hurry - at least I think it was Shawnee. Like I'm gonna walk/hitchhike there.

I never wink. I just blink a lot.

Actually, it is pretty good, I went back and registered. I didn't find any grow lights, though. But there were some radar finder thingies - I thought those were illegal most places! And they're selling them?

You didn't miss much Kari, That's why I didn't post up a reminder. By Friday afternoon it was obvious this year was a total bust.

Don't know if it was the heat or the economy, but this year you could barely tell there was anything going on in town. In past years the traffic around town was horrendous and there were sales on every block. This year even some of the most popular spots were just empty, or only had a couple of tiny sales with just a few clothes!

I'm keeping my eyes open for a better Duncan "event" though.

Oh, well. Since most of my 'garage saling' seems to be done via computer these days anyway, check out that site RB posted, and Etsy.com. Etsy is pretty pricey, but they buy, sell, and auction strictly handmade stuff, and some of it is pretty cool just to look at. I've done a lot of different handcrafty things and taught some, too, but it never ever would have occurred to me to knit a sweater for an apple to give to a teacher!

I "heard" the same thing, LR, but I have to say that on my street here in northeast (of Hwy 81) Duncan there were three garage sales, including mine, and the traffic was so bad that my neighbor couldn't get down the street to her driveway. I had my garage sale Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and I was busy all three days. I made over a thousand dollars, and I didn't have but two fairly big ticket things that I sold. It was my best garage sale ever. My house has been "purged" (LOL) and there are empty cabinets and drawers all over the house. Hopefully, I won't have to have another sale for a couple of years. I didn't get out to any other sales or to Fuqua Park to see what was going on, but my friends in other neighborhoods who had sales didn't do as well as I did. I haven't seen anything in the Duncan Banner about the success/failure of the WLGS . Perhaps a story will be printed soon.
