Cushing has a small water park, which is pretty cool for a town that small. Nearby is Stillwater for a college town that is growing with lots of stores opening. Lots of churches. If you don't like the pace and traffic of Stillwater, then Cushing would be good to fall back on. It may take some looking to find a home, though small, there for $650 a month.

We just moved to Yukon from the NW/deer creek area of the city and I love it out here. We're within 20 minutes of most shopping in the city but Yukon/Mustang still have that small town feel. In Mustang there's a new city hall that opened up with a great new pool. There's plenty of daycares, parks, and places to eat and do grocery shopping here as well.
However, I will say that apartments are harder to find in this area. However the rent is fairly good here (about $650 for a brand new 2 bed/1 bath apartment). Rent is cheaper in the city itself as well as Norman, which would also be a great place to settle down.

My dad is from Kingfisher. It is a good little town.

Most of parents families are from the NW side of the state though. A lot of my mom's family still lives in Woodward and outlying areas.

It is a town of about 10k. Good town. I was born not far in Shattuck.

Woodward meets your specifications. Crystal Lake, that does the christmas lights every year, is near by....and a short drive is Ft. Supply lake. Good for boating, swimming, and fishing. Lots of little stores and resturants etc.

One day Ill make it back home.

oh and you don't want to go Stillwater. Norman is where it is at. (I am an OU fan, little rivalry in my family since my father is an OSU fan.)

Another nice city is Guthrie, OK. Here's a link to check out:

And lest I forget: Shawnee, OK. is about 30 miles from OKC.,and has a lot of nice homes, churches, schools and a nice mall and theatre, as well.

I live between Sand Springs and Sapulpa, both suburbs of Tulsa. I would recommend either of these two, they're both nice places that have retained their small town atmosphere. And rent is cheap.

My family and I are considering moving to Broken Arrow. Could anybody give me any suggestions on the best areas to live and the areas to avoid? Also we like good school district for grade school. Also was wondering how far is Tulsa from Broken Arrow. Any other advise would be helpful!

I am from Shattuck too. Left back in 86 when I was 14. It is a great town. It was having a rough time for a while, but its on some bit of a rebound. If I could find a descent job, I would move there in about 3.2 seconds.
