I have a question that I hope someone can answer. My boyfriend and I have his three kids living with us. They have lived with us for last 3 years. Their mother see them when she feels like it and thats bout once a month maybe longer in between. We just found out on a web site a picture of her live in boyfriend who is a lvl 3 sex offender who has had to register for the rest of his life. Now my question is...Is he allowed to be around the children? They was staying the night at times with them until we found this out and she hasn't seen them (her choice) since we found out bout him. They say it's parents choice to ALLOW him to be around..but if he has to resgister commen sense to me would be he isn't allowed to be around them. I was hoping someone could clear this up for me. I really don't want to deal with going and making a bunch of phone calls to find this out.

You shouldn't have to make a bunch of phone calls, just one to child welfare or family services. They should have all the answers you need.

Were they my children, I would not allow any unsupervised visitation with the mother. Since she doesn't seem to see them much, you probably wouldn't have to do anything else, but if she made a fuss, I would go to court and request supervised visitation.
