To the org OP, my sister lives in Woodward which is near the panhandle. It isn't a bad town, just too small for my taste. It is very flat (occasional mesas though & mountains to the east) and dry. Winters are cold and windy; summers get extremely hot. If you're used to chain restuarants and major retail, the panhandle doesn't have either.

My favorite city is Tulsa- lived there for 5 yrs before moving to Okc. I love the hills and greenery.
My favorite small town is probably Guthrie- great downtown area and absolutely beautiful historic homes.

Nice. In the Stillwater area we don't have those kind of trees in the countyside. Instead, we have to settle for red cedars for an evergreen tree.

Weighing in from Arizona here: I want to say the Ok City area due in large part to the grid pattern streets making me feel at home

If I had the guts, somewhere in the panhandle, or at least near it, like Woodward or Fairview. But I hate winter as it is and I hear it's worse out there, with the wind and all.

Wouldn't mind living in the SW, near the Wichitas. I haven't heard good things about Hobart but I was drawn to it when I first saw it.

But I'd probably pick some place like Weatherford, or some other I-40 town in that area. Close but not too close to OKC, and not too far in either direction from the panhandle or the Wichitas, so I could take weekend trips to see my favorite sites. Can't go wrong with wind turbines and a drive-in theater.
