No, vetteran, it's not idiotic. There is no call for flaming. You obviously don't know the story, so please, keep try to keep your posts civil.

FYI, I left Panhandle TX because I was making $1300/Month and was offered a higher paying job. And the new job was working with other Native Americans. I have always enjoyed being around my own Native People and being in an academic setting where young people are trying to better themselves made it a great environment. So what is idiotic about that? Nothing.

Mind your tongue. You are really missing the point. The point is if someone is crying about the roads, crying about the weather, and in general whining about life in general, then they take those traits with them wherever they go.

My point was I moved to an area (panhandle area of TX) where I did not know a soul and was very happy. I could care less about the roads, the weather, etc. Those are incidental to any move.

And I never said a person could never be happy anywhere. Nor did I say they were fickle for having preferences. Whatever.

We have a truck, but I drive a Honda Accord with 250K miles on it, and I don't trade it in often. I am just saying the roads in Oklahoma are not something that would make me unhappy, nor would they ever cause me to move from one state to another. And we live in rural setting with a dirt road. So I KNOW about driving on rough roads on a daily basis.

Yes, Duncan is here because of Halliburton.

But there's a New Duncan and an Old Duncan. A section of Duncan was moved from Main st. out onto hwy-81. Go to the south end of town to Main st. Drive a little down Main and you'll find long stretch of empty buisnesses and rundown houses. The first part of Main, closeest to 81 is old fashion but nice.
Welcome to Duncan
