Okay I decided on Duncan
Well OKAY! I have finally decided on moving to Duncan. Homes are cheaper, more of what I like, and real close to the VA center. I would consider Lawton if it was 10 years ago, but that place is a sleaze pit now.
Mostly I am just ready to get the hell out of Texas!!! I can't stand another texas flag or "We are the best country in the nation" crap speech. This place is the same as anywhere else, except the people are clanish and rude, the roads suck, everybody thinks they have to drive a XXL diesel truck(and all of them are race cars...yeah RIGHT!). Frankly we should declare it another country and build a fence around it.
I would just like to leave them to themselves, and get back to Oklahoma. The weather is better, the people are outstanding, and I can still stop on the side of the road to help someone and have a conversation in ENGLISH!
See you all around the 1st of the year! If I can take it that long!
Anybody around Duncan that knows the hot spots for pool?

If you think the roads in Texas suck, you are in for a rude awakening. We always know when we have crossed the border into Texas without looking at the signs ...... the roads are smooth.
Welcome home!!

Oh, come on now Schousse, you know you love those good vibrations those ruff roads give you. Beside it makes it harder for speeders to run at stupid fast speeds and makes them slow down and enjoy all the beauty that Oklahoma has to offer. .

As soon as I start getting pissed about our roads, I then remember the outrageous property tax one pays in Texas, then all is well again!!

Actually, they've redone a large stretch of I-40, and it feels sooooooo good.

Heh. One of the few advantages to not being able to drive anymore is that not only do I not have to pay for gas and insurance, I don't have to worry about the roads pounding apart whatever I'd drive.

Out of the pot and into the fire, as they say! I am sure MK can steer you to a couple of honky tonk joints in your area.
Speaking of horrible roads, I-40 east of seminole exit is really bad. But we live on a dirt road, so any hwy seems like civilization to us. Not all areas of Lawton are sleazy. It has grown quite a bit since 77 when I lived there.
Hope all works out well for you.

thanks all,
For all the years I have spent all over OK. I have never seen roads as bad as they are in Lubbock and the surrounding areas. Many that were just built or rebuilt are worse than anything that I saw there. I love my car dearly and and would move out of here if that were the only reason. The fact is it's far from it...lol
Oklahoma has a feel to it that I only ever knew in Az. were I grew up, but who the hell an afford to live there now?!?!?

TX, where the roads are smooth, "all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average." Oh wait, that's Lake Woebegone, MI.
Never mind!

TX, where the women are strong, the men are silent, and the sheep need therapy....
