Kansas,Oklahoma-the town
Boy,you can't research this town in the archives, you get sent all over.We haven't put our house on the market yet, have a neighbor I am still dickering with who wants it for one of their kids.Has anyone comments on Kansas,Oklahoma? I hate to move George to OK in the summer but that may be what happens.I'll just have to listen to the screaming till fall .A lot depends on how we like the VA system in Muskogee or Fayetteville.I'd rather be closer to a big VA like OKC but George wants hill country-I think he believes tornado's avoid hills .Yeah,right.Happy Holidays from Oregon

Kansas is a wide spot in the road. There is a restaurant, a city hall, a C-store or two, a real estate office or two, and that is about it. Right there it is pretty flat, but just south of there it drops off into the Cookson Hills which is covered with woods, blackberrys, and cold water creeks. I would love getting a place down around spring creek or the Illinois river. It lies on the Cherokee Turnpike, so the trip into Fayetteville would be quick. Highway 10 south into Tahlequah would not be all that bad, except, due to the twisting two lane road, would be somewhat slower. That whole watershed is part of a state designated recreational district. If you are looking into a subdivision type community, you might look at Flint Ridge or the Illinois River Ranch......there can be some great deals in land there. Occaionally a house comes on the market that is worth the money, but frequently they are over priced.

Kansas,Oklahoma
Schousse, there is a town in Oklahoma that is named Kansas and I wanted to know if anyone had any information about the town.I have found a lot of property advertised there. The real estate office (ArkHoma) has a nice website.Thank you Goodpasture ,I will look south of there. We want 5-10 acres and do not mind if the town is small as long as we have good access to a VA.
