Best Chicken Fried Steak in the State?
I was just curious as to what you thought the best one was. I tried the "Universe's Best" there on NW 10th in OKC (at Meridian). I've been to Clanton's in Vinita. And I've had dozens in between. Probably the most disgusting comes from KFC or Sonic. Charlies Chicken is one of the worst. But if you were able to go anywhere in the state for a chicken fried steak, where would it be?

Nelsons Buffeteria downtown Tulsa, to bad it closed! The chicken fry at TGIF is outstanding, mainly cause it's from a ribeye! Rosie's Rib Joint in Tulsa is awesome too, at least it use to be, haven't been there in 20 years probably!

I love chicken fried steak and usually anything fried, but haven't really researched chicken fried steak that much around Norman. I've been conducting cheeseburger audits trying to come up with my ratings list.

Rib Crib, Braum's, and Marie Calendars have pretty similar burgers. Out of those, I would probably choose Braum's. Charlestons has a huge double cheeseburger. Actually, couldn't finish that one. I like Van's Pig Stand (I like pretty much everything on the menu) has a nice little double cheeseburger. With the curly fries they have, it's a nice meal. Coach's has a nice selection of burgers, but is a bit pricey like Charlestons. For the size, Charlestons will fill you up and then some. For an everyday cheeseburger, I would choose Van's. Nice environment, nice sweet pickles you can help yourself to, I usually get a slice of pie with it, love the smoke filled smell, and it's 5 min from my house.
Of course, I need to do more research. I've eaten at Red Robin, but not in this state. Sorry, Sonic does not rate with me, it's kind of like McDonalds. Generic flavor no matter which one you go to. Don't get me wrong, I'll hit sonic for some 1/2 priced drinks, but not for to much else. You gotta love Braum's though, "I'll take a #3, with ice tea, a double dip cone, and 2 gallons of milk please."
