Wow! Your boys are adorable. How do you keep their coats so shiny and well-groomed. Must be a lot of hard work. Oh, and those kids there are cute, too.

Goodpasture, I don't remember ever saying that Oklahoma's health care was any worse than it is here. If anything I think it would be better than our area. I was inquiring about a neonatal unit nearby to OKC. Currently we have to travel two hours (Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital) to get to our neonatal unit. The other option for us is the Boston's Children's Hospital which is another two hours away. See, yet another plus for Oklahoma!!!! That of course is just what I'm lookin for!

Hi Fairfielder,

You got me on this one. I was going to put in a comment like that but I figured I'd let someone else do it for me. Thanks for the compliments on both sets of our boys!!!!

Good Morning Shousse,

Well, now that you put it that way I totally agree. Also, health care in Mass. is the worse you can imagine in regard to insurance coverage.

Through Assurant Health our policy is DOUBLE what it costs in Oklahoma. I'm telling you, Oklahoma has got to be one of the best kept secrets in this country!

Thanks for you response, I deeply appreciate it.

Mitch

I'm sure this has been said but I don't feel like going through all 4 pages.

Winter, well around here in Tulsa, yesterday was about 18 and I think it got up to 22 or 23 with a windchill of 7-10. The past few years we've had ice storms, not snow or snow storms, ice. Winter here starts around late November and can last until mid March. But the Springs and Summers here are nice, and the summers can get pretty darn hot, we can easily reach 100+ degree days. Spring and Autumn in Oklahoma is beautiful, but you would probably know more of that living in New Hampshire. About roads, well yea we have some bad roads.. But I think all around OKC and Tulsa things are starting to be done about that. Now I know you've mentioned Choctaw but I don't know too much about Choctaw which is why I'm just mentioning the big cities. Hope that helps a little, probably just a repeat of what's been said.

And about the "Oklahoma has got to be one of the best kept secrets in this country!", well let's keep that quiet, don't go telling all of your buddies, we like it quiet down here. Hehe.

With all the wiseguys here, I figured they all were thinking it. I just happened to be the first to say it. Thank you for the opportunity

BTW, did you say that you already priced a family medical insurance policy in OK? If so, was it a high-deductible or low cap one or was it really good coverage?

Fairfielder,

I have been with Assurant Health for years and I found a policy with a $500 deductible, it is actually very good coverage. It is exactly half the price in Oklahoma that I'm paying in New Hampshire.

That sounds amazing to me. I wonder if the risk management people at the insurance companies feel that you are more likely to get hit by a piece of falling granite from the "old man in the mountain" rather than getting blown away by the "wind whistling down the plains". (I'll bet I quoted the song wrong. Please forgive me)
