Default Which towns in Oklahoma are old timey?

My husband and I are young(23 and 25). We really want to live somewhere where he can have a decent paying job. But that means-moving to OKC or Tulsa.

We are very country and love living the country lifestyle. Riding horses, laid back simple life. What towns in Oklahoma remind you of the old times? We are having a hard time finding any decent paying jobs in small towns but really don't want to live in the city anymore.

We want to be around people who like the simple lifestyle and don't have to have to be shopping, going to the bar constantly. We really want to live somewhere where people are friendly and welcoming.

Thanks

Well, much of downtown Guthrie has been restored to the way it used to be. The ornate fronts on the many of the stores are attractive.

Grove in NE OK is in the foothills of the Ozark mountains, on Grand Lake. It's a beautiful old town that was formed before OK became a state. Lots of history. You might like the world's largest antique museum which is a recreated turn of the century town located on the shores of grand lake. The Japanese Garden is gorgeous in the spring. Its small and its pure country.

Blanchard is a relatively small town with a nice little downtown. It is in the country but close enough to the OKC to get a job in OKC.
