Looks kinda like here, but it's deeper here. Didn't even get any mail today, and I've only seen 2 vehicles even trying to drive anywhere. The dogs are kind of funny - one can't figure out why it isn't fluffy, one just wants to run, and one looks out the door and says "I really don't need to go out THAT bad!" And every step the horse takes, she shakes her hooves off, one at a time.

Kari, Your horse sounds like me trying to get to the mailbox earlier...
Those pics were taken this morning and it has gotten about an inch deeper out there since then... we are still on the edge of the storm though, NE of us is getting quite a bit more.
Somewhere I have a pic of my Boy cat's first encounter with snow here... he bounced off the front porch into pristine snow that was about 6 inches deep and promptly barfed everywhere when the cold hit his belly...
He jumped straight back into the house and *yelled* at ME for a good half-hour...

I think we have about 3" now. It's weird, it's sort of raining, but it's also freezing after it falls. The dogs are out again - one of them under protest - and that ridiculous horse has spent the whole day standing out in it instead of going inside where she'd at least be dry. She looks like a very large drowned rat now! I think maybe last night she objected to the sound of ice pellets on the roof, but it's not ice pellets any more, it's just wet until it hits the ground.
All my dogs, except the beagle I have now, have loved the snow. One of their favorite games has been to stick their noses in it and snort a cloud of snow all over. The cats, at least the ones that I had in AK, always liked it too, they had a great time chasing mice and shrews under the snow.

Your birds are so pretty. We have a lot of doves and Grackles here in NM wish we had the pretty Cardinals, Blue Jays and Robbins. I told my friend in Shawnee the Pics in the online News_Star looked more like snow than Ice. He said they got ice yesterday and today sleet on top of it. I hear there have been lots of accidents.

Beautiful pictures. I really miss Cardinals. Ice can be so destructive, yet so beautiful on the trees, fences, etc. I've been following the storm on newsok.com and it doesn't look nearly as bad as Dec 07. Hope you're all doing OK.

More pics! More pics! I spoiled my GSD. She has been inside for the duration of this ice storm.
And like a typical 3 year old, it was just a matter of time until she started getting antsy. So I let her run in it yesterday.
Got scrapers?

I have a beagle. I have to carry her outside, follow her around to keep her from heading right back in and as soon as she's done she sprints for the door! She is not a happy camper. Now the cat is indoor, but kept staring out the frontdoor as I was staring at the snow, so I picked her up and put her on the porch in the nice fluff show...and threw some at her. Never saw her run so fast back inside and got as far away from the door as possible.
Ok, mailbox... the porch is ice underneath the snow/sleet, don't even want to think of using the steps... if I get mail, does the mailman have to be a really good basketball player to get it in the mailbox?
