Forgot about the prison population. Do they count them, I wonder on the census? I doub't it but this is Southeast OK. Now, I am not talking to great about the area but on the other side of the coin is I could never have this beautiful ranch in any other part of the State or States. So, I am not going to complain again. Although I sure wish we had real winters and not just ice storms and the summers are a bit too hot for this girl.

Things like that only get counted when it's time to ask for more funding.

We transferred here 11 years ago and I haven't seen one business move here except Loews but seem others leave. There are no jobs unless you were transferred here. Kids graduating from high school will have to leave.
My daughters live in Stillwater, OSU, married and never came back. I wonder why??????????

It is unbelieveable how McAlester has spread south on 69 the last 20 years... I live in Wilburton{30 miles away} but have to go to McAlester a lot and the downtown area has pretty much stayed the same but the town has spread southward.. I am surprised to see that the population is about the same.. I thought McAlester had grown considerably as well..
