I wish it would stay that way, but before too long we'll be cooped up in our homes trying to stay cool.

I love the moderate weather. There's no wind, the temperatures are perfect, and things are blooming!

The Bradford pears are blooming, the redbuds, the tulip trees, a bunch of shrubs, and I even bought a new mega-pack of betteries so maybe I can take some pictures. Not that they'll be worth looking at...

My favorite tree has these little green leaves coming out all over. There are some kind of bulbs growing in an old flower bed with yellow flowers ready to open just in time for a cold front. All I wanted to do the last couple of days was check out the lawn for interesting plants to dig up and replant before the city comes by with their little notice that the grass got more than a quarter inch high.

And all the birds... wow, finally saw a male cardinal sitting on a power line singing away. So beautiful. I did a video of the yard so the sound would be full of all the birdsong.

I'm used to hot hot weather with high humidity. I can cope. The heat on and a coat I'm not so I will manage with summer. I'll just remember that before it gets cold fall will come and I know it was wonderful.

Love the four seasons.

Where did you come from nightbird? Glad you're enjoying yourself. I also like four seasons. Variety is the spice of life!

Sunday, March 8, was an absolutely wonderful day. Longer daylight, light breeze, sun, birds singing and my youngest son got here from Colorado to make a new life for he and his wife (who had to stay behind because of job until end of April). He got to fish, put his canoe in the pond, eat Mama's cooking, laugh with his brothers and sil's. He left mean 90 mile an hour winds, below freezing temps and no work. He owns a paint contracting company and we hope and pray that he can find jobs here in OK and AR. Work totally dried up or taken over by illegals where he was in the Rockies. Rain today, but we really needed it.

Welcome to Oklahoma in the springtime Nightbird!!! There IS life outside of CA and it is breathtaking. You sound like me our first year here. I spent an insane amount of time taking pictures of clouds, and birds and wildflowers... And 5 years in... I STILL do!!

Pretty soon you will know which wildflowers bloom in certain months and when certain birds will show up. And you will catch yourself thinking...Hmmm... the Robins are late this year, wonder when they will show up.

Right now the Bradford pear trees are in full bloom, the henbit is showing it's purple carpet on everyone's lawns., and the redbuds are just starting to show off...

Next month it will be all new colors to look at! Sometime in April my Wisteria will spring to life and hopefully it will get to stay pretty for a few days before a Spring storm drives all of the blooms into the ground.
