Pictured below is how the snow storm looked from my back door in Stillwater around noon today, 3/28/09. The foreground view is the prettiest corner of my neighbor's backyard. It was a real friendly kind of snow storm because not much of it stuck to the streets and sidewalks since the temp hovered around 32. It's probably the type of thing folks in the deep south can relate to during the rare times they get snow.

To compliment my interest in the weather in Stillwater and Oklahoma, I now have a personal weather station web site and ad free. It's at: Stillwater Weather. It seems to be running slow today, so allow time for loading.

Ah, what a dramatic difference in the weather 7 or so hours later can make as the sun sets where the sky has cleared: (It snowed around 4 in. here, but it's been melting fast.)

There is a wet, melting layer of white all over the place in my yard in Cushing. Maybe 6 inches. I hope it didn't hurt my bulbs that have sprouted.

Poor dog does NOT like it at all.

what a gorgeous landscape! I love to just sit and watch the snow fall like that.. esp when it's calm and unusually quiet out.

Thank you. Unfortunately, in the small field where it looks muddy, it appears a new home will soon be going up and spoiling the view. Since it's near a cul de sac, I don't blame anyone for wanting to build a home there and so not have to deal with much auto traffic.

Waa, we didn't get any snow, but we had a lot of rain which we really need.

All we have left are the lemon kind and the plain ones (Trefoils) I think those are destined for the Blue Star Mothers of Muskogee this year. I ain't eating them ever again.

Not even an inch of snow, compared to the possible 6+ inches forecasted 12 hours before the event. Please...Illinois here I come! You have to hate snow and cold to live here, in all honesty.
