Well, I guess it's just too much to ask some people to observe what speed limit signs say and obey them.

Try working in a road construction zone when the signs clearly say 50 MPH & stay in your lane and they still blow thru it at 70 and 75 MPH. Or, the flagger has to stop traffic so a construction truck can leave the work zone and some idiot thats in a big hurry almost runs them over. Fellow truck drivers won't even slow down and move over to help us out. But they'll sit there and whine and cry about the road needing work.
Just doing the speed limit is to hard for some people, they'd rather complain later that it was the cops fault for given them the ticket.

You didn't see the news show on Broken Arrow.........Cops dressed like construction workers and flag men....orange fvest on the front, POLICE on the back.....other cops up in the dozer or hoe with a radar gun and a radio to the flag men. Guy comes zooming down the road 20 over the limit, the flagman puts the sign on stop, the guy stops, the cop says pull over there and shows his badge.......and fines double in construction zones.......3 mph over is still $200+ fine.............

Yeah, yeah yeah, speeding is bad. I'd like to see a little more of the law enforcement budget focused on drugs or domestic violence.

Have no fear ! It's all about the "MONEY" , has nothing to do with making the roads safer.

Thank God for that, they need to nail them harder than that when they're inside a construction zone.

Lots of the traffic stops do end up being drug stops.

Yeah, and they can't do much about domestic violence unless the victim comes forward, is willing to press charges, and willing to testify against the abuser. Though I suppose some of the money could go to more support groups? But again, the victim still has to come forward on their own and really want out of the situation...
On a less serious note, has anyone else here never got a speeding ticket?

If you are getting pulled over that often for minor violations you are doing something what leads to cop to want to talk with you. Best thing to do is buy a truck, but some red mud on the tires, a beef plate on the front, and a few bales of hay in the back. You should be good to go for 5 to 10 over.

Me. Got my license in 1975... I've only been pulled over one time (Not in OK) The guy was a little confused. He said he got me "on radar" doing 45 in a school zone... I told him:
1. I just dropped my child off and pulled out of the school parking lot... to reach 45MPH before the end of the school zone, I would have been squealing tires and flooring it.
2. I WORKED for the school district and frequently "Brake Checked" speeders in front of the school.
He tells me: Hmmf! Then you should know better, and he let me go...

Let me start off by saying I'm a VERY fast, aggressive driver. I've lived in NJ, GA, NV, CA, AZ, CO and OK. I have never had a speeding ticket. And the only moving violation I had was making a left hand turn at 4:03 where it was not allowed between 4 and 5:30.
