Smile Lawton relocation

Can anyone recommend apartments or rental property in Lawton for a single college graduate relocating there for career? Any safe areas in Lawton where a runner can get some miles in?

It's been a few days since the original post was made, so hopefully this isn't too late for a response.

I don't know the apartment situation well enough to offer recommendations. Upwards of a dozen large apartment developments have been built in Lawton within the last couple of years. There's also some fairly nice apartment complexes that have been around for a long time. Sheridan Square and Willow Park are a couple that come to mind. Just try to avoid anything in a run down part of town.

Lawton has a few places to run. Elmer Thomas Park (next to I-44 and Cache Rd.) is the most popular place. The Lawton Fort Sill YMCA has an indoor track elevated above the basketball court. The city has long term plans of creating a bike path network around town, but it will be years before any of that happens.

i know you may be moving to lawton for your career, but why? I lived there because my father was army for 15 years and as cute as it may have been, it was pretty boring as i got older. lawton itself is pretty small, but hopefully you have access to the base. there are some apartments off of cache road and 82nd street that a few of my friends have resided in. Check them out and see if the price is right for you. It's not too far from the base or from Cameron Univ. Remember, the place is pretty small so no matter where you reside, everything will be within a short drive. Good luck on your hunt though!
