Yeah, I noticed that, but didn't want to say anything. Don't worry, there is plenty of chat on the pics thread, so now we are even!
Western Oklahoma is home to me. But it is flat and gets even flatter as it heads toward the Staked Plains. I think western Oklahoma resembles South/North Dakota's plains.
Whenever I see all those dang trees in eastern Oklahoma, I think "deer ticks".

I was right there by the old bank Wednesday afternoon, and it was like a cross between dodge-em cars and a demolition derby!

When I see the plains like that, I think "rattlesnakes" - although I know in my mind they are all over the southern states, but my gut just doesn't agree with my mind. Funny - I recently found what I thought was a little rock right next to the old WPA ditchwork on my property and I thought "Aha! A souvenir rock!" only it wasn't a rock, once I pulled it out of the weeds and grass, it turned out to be a turtle, with his head pulled in tight.

Hiya Redbird. you're right about those ticks. My husband keeps our yard sprayed. And we keep ourselves sprayed with Cutter. Good stuff!

Yeah, sometimes it get a pretty busy on that street. I love Holdenville tho. Guess it's because it was my home town. Glad I still live only a few miles from there!

Well, that's interesting, Redbird!!! So you're saying the landscape in our states are switched? The eastern part of So. Dak. is the plains/prairies and our western side has the Hills. Vice versa for OK? Your hills really are hills, but our hills are mountains. Yea, if you read that last sentence twice, it'll make sense. I like both the hills and the mountains and the prairies are ok, too~just get tired of them some days.
Unfortunately, we have rattlesnakes up this way, too. We don't have them East River, but West River has them. 75 miles west of here we could start finding rattlers. Dry years we get stuck with a couple over here, too because semis often haul hay from the center of the state eastward and they ride along and jump off here. Fortunately, I've never seen one except behind a cage. I am terrified of hissers.
Anyone watch the weather channel? Vortex2 has been traveling around 4 weeks already and they got their first tornado yesterday over in Wyoming. It is historical because they got to see inside the tornado.
Guess I'm out of news now.
I hope everyone is having a very nice weekend!
