I hope so. We did hear the sheriffs mention that SOME people were being allowed back in but nothing about the fire being contained.

And I agree about the skies looking like CA... I noticed that earlier when we were up on 81 hwy.

Thanks for the update. *HUGS*

Earlier this evening NBC Nightly News had a 3 or 4 minute seg on the wildfire just outside of Stillwater. Right after that I pulled up KOCO's site and it reported fires from Elk City to Midwest City and to the south in Carter County.(Ardmore area)

They've been talking about the wildfires and storm warnings for several hours on the Weather Channel. Hope everything turns out ok.

I went outside this morning and thought, "Why is someone using their fireplace?" Then I realized that it's the smoke from all of the fires West of Fort Worth.

This is horrible. Over 100 homes lost in Midwest City alone.

I'm guessing you are asking about the fires? It's pretty bad. The current numbers are 13 homes, 5 businesses, and 5 other buildings lost to the fire...all within town. They have set up a perimeter around the town and they are only allowing residents and official folks in.

The fires in the surrounding area have re-kindled a few times this morning and some are still burning.

I should know more tonight when my Hubby gets in from work.

Here is a link to the story in the Duncan Banner: http://www.duncanbanner.com/local/lo...100010425.html

Loco was hit just as hard and Meridian is in pretty bad shape too.
