I'm wondering if Velma or The Duncan Fair Grounds could use some volunteer help

MK, The fairgrounds would be your best bet... the town itself is locked down right now.

I'm going to relocate our posts to the fire thread...

Wow, SO many houses were lost between the OK and the TX fires! It sounds like they're a bit under control now. Is that what you're seeing?

They also have discovered that there was arson involved. That is just sad and I hope they catch whoever started this mess.

unfortunately, this is pretty typical wherever you go.. fires start, and A) it's easier for a firebug to start other fires without getting caught.. B) the fires can do more damage because the fire depts aren't staffed for huge blazes like that..

a real shame.

and a lot of times it is just "not paying attention" that causes them......burning trash (Oh, I know there is a fire ban on, but it is just a bag of household trash..........) or a field fire that gets out of hand.

Praise Be!!!!! The storms are rolling in!! /dances with joy...

Maybe this rain will put out the fires (That are STILL burning in our area) and clear the air! The wind shifted today bringing all of the smoke our way.

Don't you just love the sound of thunder and lightening flashes of an on coming thunderstorm storm.
