I just saw your name and location. I heard Halliburton was moving out of the Duncan area. Did I hear correctly? And, how do you think this will affect the town? How dependant on Halliburton is Duncan? What other industry do you have there? I have only been through there one time.

I'm in Duncan too. If it wasn't for Halliburton there wouldn't be a Duncan
The main office has already moved out of Duncan. They still have alot Business going on here. LadyRobyn could tell you more about what's going on.

where are you located?

Hi Lady! Good to hear that you are still hangin' in there. MK is right Halliburton did move it's corporate headquarters out awhile back, but the rest of the company is still here.

Since Halliburton pretty much built Duncan we are pretty dependant on them but I think the town has grown enough to survive if anything should happen... it would be painful but we'd make it.

Here is a page listing the major employers in the area: Duncan's Major Employers

I'm sure that Halliburton's numbers are quite a bit lower right now as they just went through a big round of lay-offs, but that is something they do every few years anyway...as soon as things pick up they will start hiring again.

Compared to many other small towns in the Country, Duncan is doing quite well!!
