Default Muskogee, OK

I'm moving to Oklahoma from Jersey and was wondering if anyone knows of an apartment or house for rent. Haven't seen much of anything listed on the internet. Thanks.

Call any real estate office in the area you are looking. A lot of them do property management as well, and most of them will also know what's available for rent.

I do not know the circumstances as to WHY you chose Oklahoma but I can tell you this after having been gone for 30 years and living in Maui, Washington and California, I am back HOME. I CAN tell you that if you want manners, politeness and neighborly kindness towards you, please come to Oklahoma. If you want the greatest springs and falls, come to Oklahoma. If you want spiritual people who you see in bars on Saturday and then see them on Sunday at church- COME TO OK! However, once you get here you must choose a team as we only have two allowed - SOONERS OR COWBOYS!!!!

As for the neighborhoods - look around - there's crap everywhere and coming from New York, you may think this is Disneyland! I am in negotiations for the Historic Hayes House on 12th and Okmulgee - take a look at the website and see where the "bad" crime is suppposed to be. The people in the hood, if they are criminals, don't do crime in this neighborhood - they go to Country Club! If we can learn to take back our neighborhoods by empowering the poor to feel proud of their neighborhood and homes, every hood will improve. Crack? The rich people smoke it too!

If you are moving from New Jersey you are in for a huge culture shock. The nearest Trader Joe's and Cosco are in St. Louis or Denver. I don't know if Whole Foods or IKea is there or not, but all four are in Chicago. Upscale shopping and dining is in Tulsa, OKC, KC or Dallas. Pickup trucks and cowboys are common. Honor Park is awesome. It is also home to the Five Tribes museum. I found some awesome food and coffee in this town too. The Cowboy museum is in OKC. You're not too far from casinos in Tulsa and Arkansas. I think the nearest Jewish deli are in Tulsa nad OKC. Once you get settled in and get used to the lack of traffic, you will find a whole state full of very nice people and you really don't have to look very far. You won't find ocean or outrageous taxes but you will find some awesome lakes, and you might find a really great house you can afford. Of course if you come to Oklahoma you will stay a lifetime, anyway.

Welcome Home!
