BTF, Also post a thread in the OKC section describing what you are looking for. http://www.city-data.com/forum/oklahoma-city/ You might get a better (more detailed) response there... some people who post in the OKC section rarely post in the general OK section.

BTF, my 19 year old son, Scott, has also been accepted at OCCC for the fall. He's currently at Francis Tuttle Voc Tech in the carpentry program, but in the fall he'll be going there part time and to OCCC part time for art/film classes.
I've posted many pics of Anna, but I don't think I've ever posted Scott. Here he is as a "gentleman" and then how he usually looks! lol
I don't know how helpful this is, but I know there are a LOT of apartment complexes near the school. If you call the admissions office they may be able to help you too.
When you come down to look for an apartment, etc., dm me and we'll get together.

That's cool, did he just get his letter recently? I thought I was never gonna get mine, lol.
As far as the apartments...
Now that I'm thinking more about it, I'm not sure I want to live in a complex.
Is it likely that a house with just a few apartments in it would have a storm cellar? I really want a way to get underground during a twister...

He got his letter about a week and a half ago. We're going out to the school tomorrow night to get him enrolled and pick his classes.
Keep in mind that during bad weather many public buildings open up (schools, churches, etc.) for people to take refuge in. But I hear ya about being underground. We just had a storm shelter put into our garage.

Yeah, but in a school or church how much safer are you, really, if you're still above ground? And if the tornado actually hits the building...
My Dad and I are planning on coming down either around the 21st of this month, or the 2nd week of June. He doesn't wanna be there more than three days, though... and I doubt that's enough time to do everything I want/need to, especially if we're there over a weekend. I'll have to find something he'll love and not be able to resist staying longer for... Or maybe the fact that the dates he chose are some of the more expensive times to fly will be enough, and we can do our flying mid week or mid weekend (saturday afternoon/evening).

If you come the 21st, Anna is having her mega-Luau on the 22nd. She's invited around 50 kids (juniors, seniors, some OU guys). I don't know how many of them will come, since graduation is the next night, but you're welcome to join the festivities. LMK

MY GOD! She invited 50 people!??! That's a lot of pineapples! I haven't had 50 friends total in my whole life! But then I was one of those anti-social freakish PIB before there were PIBs. (person in black)
I would think there is a decent bus system for getting the students to OCCC. BTF is going to have a busy three days when she gets here.
BTF needs a scout to help her find potential places! Personally, I would just drive around the school and take the first decent place.
