Borrow one if you don't. When I moved my camera failed the shock test on a tile floor the day before and all my pics ended up on my cell phone with soo few pixles. You want LOTS of them too

Hi Born, glad you're on your way to the OKC area. I was reading through all the posts in this thread and figured i'd drop a line. I used to work at the airport in OKC and know the area around OCCC pretty well (SW 89th & May). I actually lived in an apartment complex called "The Hunt" (across from cambridge landing). It was cheap when i was there (2001-2002ish).
The thing about this thread is someone mentioned Cambridge Landing. My first night at The Hunt, i noticed a bright orange hue glowing on the closed blinds in the window. I opened them up and 2 or 3 buildings at cambridge were in a ball of fire! The fire was huge! One man was killed in the blaze and several had to jump off their balconies. It was crazy, but i remember thinking to myself, "man, i am glad i didn't move there"!
Anyway, if The Hunt is still there, you should give it a look. The complex was a fun place to be for younger people and it was nicer than cambridge. Also, there is another complex on the corner of I-44 and SW 89th. They were building that complex when i moved, but it is probably nice also.

Ready for the Heat? I love my ranch here in Okie land but summer is a little too hot for me. We moved from the upper midwest where 100 is once in a lifetime.

Debbie, no, I am not ready. It's been cold and rainy here. Today is nice, but still only 75 or so (which is pretty near perfect, IMO) and it's going to cool off again over the weekend. So stepping out into hotter and hotter temps as we go south is going to be hard to adjust to.
We don't have A/C here at my Dad's house. Even our hottest summers we didn't put one in, so I just sweat and suffered in 90s and sometimes (though rarely) 100 degree and humid weather. The worst part of that was not being able to sleep because of the heat and humidity. So, having the A/C will be nice; at least there will be some relief when I don't have to be outside.

I take that back about the cool weather here... it turned out to be like 90+ today, and very humid. But, it's suppose to cool off over the weekend, dang it.

I really can't deal with the heat, ticks and chiggers and now another drop off on my front porch. Like I said before, love my ranch, it is beautiful but between, heat, ticks and chiggers it is a bit much in the summer. Now, for my 20 drop off dog. What do people do in this state. I must have an invisable sign out front that says drop off welcome. I have fixed and sat in front of walmart getting rid of dogs. Have had to put down at the vets dogs and kept 4 drop offs. Now I have a beautiful chocolate lab on my porch. HELP!!!

It sounds to me like you have a reputation as the local humanitarian. That's sad people would do that to dogs, and to you.

We must have a neon sign that says All cats welcome here. One summer, we had 7 show up. We have only had 2 this year. I like it when they come neutered!
