Good question BTF. To be honest, I don't even know of any designated areas around here. If you're in a neighborhood with homes you could ask some of the home owners if they have storm shelters; they WILL NOT deny you safety in such times, that I will guarantee.
Your best bet would be to contact the city government; they will definitely help you locate storm shelters in the area.

Thanks, Synopsis! I'm not so sure about going door to door asking about storm shelters by myself, but I'll at least get ahold of someone in city govt. who can help. Great idea. I looked on either ok.gov or okc.gov, I can't remember which, to see if there were any designated shelters listed and there weren't, but I'll still contact them, maybe (hopefully) there were just too many to list!? lol

You're welcome! I'm sure the city government will be more than happy to help. I'll bet there are a ton of designated areas all over the city.
Even though I'm in Texas, welcome to Oklahoma BTW!

Thanks!
Hey, do you know anything about pill bugs?? I've never seen so many in all my life... they are all over my apartment, which is annoying since right now I literally have nothing to sit on besides the floor. I just wonder what might have made them show up today all of a sudden?

LOL. I don't even know what a pill bug is BTF.
I think the bug problem in Oklahoma is because they've had so much rain.
Now you've piqued my curiosity; I'll have to google and see what a pill bug is.

Oh, I've always called them "rolly pollies."
I have only seen a couple down here in the DFW area to date.

Yeah, that's a cute name. When I looked them up online they did mention most kids call them that.

When I was in college, I remember having quite a few apts with no furniture. It was time to hit the garage sales. I had a friend who would go on a mission to get me and my apartment up to speed. I literally had nothing in my apts at first.
No dishes, no couch, bed, etc. I loved it. Start making friends because when you are in college, your closest friends become like family. At least mine were.

Yeah, I've been looking on craigslist, so far haven't seen much that I'm interested in besides a TV. The thought of getting a used sofa-bed/futon from someone I don't know kind of grosses me out, to be honest...

Some tips BTF.
Top Ramen noodles, and box crates (for furniture); those things helped me to survive during my poorer years...
If I were in your vicinity, I would certainly be able to contribute to furnishing your apartment; we have WAY to much STUFF!
I would happily give you a boatload of stuff to furnish your apartment.
