Default McAlester area rentals/horse property?

Good evening,

I've been offered a part time job jockeying barrel horses, I'm looking for a place/room to rent and possibly somewhere to keep 1-2 of my horses as well. I will also be attending Eastern Oklahoma while there, finishing my degree, and I'd certainly appreciate anyone's time if they could point me in any directions! I will also be looking for a M-Th job to fill in the gaps financially, I have an excellent resume and skills (both administrative and equine) so if anyone knows of something, again, much appreciated! I grew up in Oklahoma, so looking forward to "staying" for a while rather than hauling in then back out for rodeos!

V. Alexander
Albuquerque, NM (West of you folks and much drier!)

Well, I prefer Albuquerque to Mcalester but that a personal opinion. Been here 11 years and do love having a ranch. Anyway, rentals are hard to find in McAlester but Randy Saunier (1st Realty) has 250 rentals in town. At least that was advertised so you could start their. McAlester itself isn't going to have horse property so you will have to find outside in the rural areas for rentals. I live near Stuart which is about 16 miles out and it is all rural. You also might find people willing to board your horses in this area. I would but summer is a bit much with other work for me. I have a few horses. This area is almost like having to ask around to find out anyting at all. I have to go to the gas station to find people willing to do work for me. You would think they would advertise? Good luck.
