Associates Degree Program at Western Oklahoma State College
I am currently finishing up my pre-requisite required for this program but i have a few questions...
1. How hard is it to get into this program?
-My state (Hawaii) offers only ONE like this and its super competetive that students retake classes that they got a B in, just to get an A. It says on the application that you only need a 3 something but in reality, they wont even consider your application unless you have a 4.0
2. How far away is this to Lawton?
3. Should I dorm, if not..what areas should i find a place to live?
Thanks!

I can help with #2. Western Oklahoma State College is in Altus, OK which is about 55 miles (1 hour) from Lawton.

You might mention what program you are wanting to get into. In any case, it's a good idea in OK to get an associate's degree because if you do so then any University in OK has to transfer all your hours. If you don't have the associate degree then they may pick and choose what to accept.

Thanks for that info, Heather. Anna will be starting her college career at OCCC, so it's good to know she should get her Associates degree before she transfers.

Very cool! We keep hearing about the shortage of Nursing. Good luck, and study hard!
