Default CableOne or AT&T internet provider for Bartlesville?

My internet options are CableOne and AT&T. The charges are pretty similar, CableOne is $53 for 5mbps, AT&T is $45 for 6mbps (when you arne't paying for a phone line)...so what I really need to know is based on known experience which is more reliable in this area. I am not interested in hearing a Cable VS DSL debate, in my experience it always varies by region.

Default Real world answers

Hello, I am both Cisco and Microsoft Certified. Following is my opinion to your post. ATT is a world class service 24/7 provider. Your Local Cable provider is an 8-5 local provider. Good luck getting someone to answer the phone at 8am or after 4:30pm. I have seen cable companies all over America. Your local cable company falls far below all of them in rates and service. I made the mistake of choosing Cable. I am now switching to ATT just for decent service.

Meanwhile, I had to quit ATT due to poor service from both phone and Internet. The phone line often had humming noise in the background that kept coming back after company repair to the line, and Internet speed seldom was at the speed I purchased. So I switched to cable. I'm far from the only one who had bad service from ATT. So ATT is subject to a class action lawsuit. Previous subscribers will probably be eligible for a small refund on their DSL service payments.

Anyone that lauds AT&T for good service must speak Hindi, or work for AT&T.

World Class Service, that's good for a laugh. I have been a customer of AT&Ts for many years, and I do almost anything to avoid needing "service" from AT&T, dealing with that company is pure torture. No one knows anything, they tell you conflicting facts, half of them don't speak English and no one can do anything and no one, ever, follows through on what they tell you they are going to do.

I don't know much about that cable company, but in no way is DSL as fast or as stable as Cable and I'm sure all providers have 24/7 technical service. If you are talking U-Verse, well, I don't hear good things.

A note on AT&T's "world class service". I have four iPhones with that crappy company spending over $200 a month. They should treat me like gold for what I spend with them.

Instead for two months in a row I have been crammed. Scummy offshore companies that place unrequested "subscription" fees for $10 a pop. I've had three lines hit with $80 in charges in the last two months. Last month I called and got the charges removed and had this kind of thing blocked from my phone. Did AT&T block it, hell no, today I get my bill and I was hit again this month.

AT&T not only allows it, they participate in it. A report on MSNBC said that Verizon and AT&T have profited over $600 million from thier share of these scams and that up to 80% of AT&T phone lines have been hit.

Check your bills and never, ever, trust AT&Ts "World Class Service"
