Default Possible to move to Grand Lake....help with questions

We're retired already and young. would like to live near Tulsa (daughter there) but want the beauty Grand Lake has to offer. I have a few questions I hope someone can help:

*Mosquitos.....is it bad?

*Spiders and snakes? Same thing...bad or not much? Wife hates both.

*Any good realtors to suggest?

*Im also looking for any Kenpo Karate folks to team up with...where?

*I want to find musicians who still play classic rock and roll. I play drums and would love to get in a band again. Any places to play?

Thanks in advance. If you really want to ramble on go ahead and just email me @ splicit@mycomspan.com

We're just trying to sort out the positives and negatives that may exist there.

I live on Grand, on the south end, mouth of duck creek. Absolutely love it!! Mosquitoes were worse at my house in Owasso then here. But, I, along with all my neighbors have Martin houses so I'm sure they keep the mosquito population down. Spiders are horrible! Anything around water and the spiders are going to be bad. You can spray for them though which helps quite a bit. There is also a system called Spider Be Gone which those that I've talked to that have them say it works great. It's expensive though, cost around $5K to install for average size house. Snakes are not bad at all, I've seen 4 black snakes in my yard over the past 11 years, that's it.

Can't help you on the realtors, do not know of any of them that are any good around the lake. When we were looking at property 13 years ago the agents only wanted to show you their listings, it was very frustrating. Best way to look for lake front property is by boat, it will take you forever by car. Can't help on the karate or the band questions.

Regarding positives/negatives. Lack of restaurants sucks, lack of shopping sucks. But the positives far outweigh any negatives. You get to wake up to this every morning!

Realtors?
Try Janice Elder at Elder & Co. or her husband Les. Probably one of the better ones around.

You will like Grand Lake. Spiders are everywhere ...don't see them any worse than Texas or Colorado.
