Help !! cant decide..Norman, OK vs. Athens, Ga
I might have an opportunity to start a business either in Sooner mall, Norman, OK or Georgia Square Mall, Athens,GA. I cannot decide between the two. Can anyone compare and contrast the 2 cities based on shoppers, mall traffic, business success based on the city and its growth..?? Just lost in my own decission. Help!!

Not knowing what your business is makes it a little difficult, but I might take a look at some basic demographics for both SMSA's and browse the websites of similar businesses to yours. If it is a luxury business, something that depends on "disposable income" then look at the indicators in both places that might clue you in to the market potential for what you are offering. What kind of business is it?

Talisman09 is dead on. Take a look at the economic indicators for both locations (particularly among whatever your target demographic is). Then step back and think about what the landscape will look like in 12-24 months. That's about how long you'll (generally) have to make the business start to look successful. Citydata itself has some of this information available ( http://www.city-data.com/city/Athens...y-Georgia.html and http://www.city-data.com/city/Tulsa-Oklahoma.html).

Depending on your ethnicity, you may want to consider Athens. Norman is somewhat racist and was known as a "Sundown town" back in the day.

Spending a lot of time in the OK City area (and having many friends from Norman that are African American) I think that is a serious overstatement.

Why is it that no matter what's being discussed, someone always feels the need to play the race card?

And I am sure Goah-gah has no racism in its history!
I'd pick Norman in a heartbeat over the South. And I would not live anywhere near the campus if I could help it. Since your work would be by the Sooner mall, I would probably live either south or west of the Sooner Mall in a place where I am not dependent on I-35.

Which then explains why they're not playing with a full deck.
