Default SE Oklahoma Questions about health care

We are planning to build our retirement home north of Broken Bow but are concerned about health care. We visited the DeQueen, Arkansas, hospital but their only surgeon had just passed away. We've been told that the closest good medical facilities are in Texarkana. What do you do in an emergency or when you get ill? We love the area north of town and have purchased property to build on but are having second thoughts. We've thought about keeping our doctors in the OKC area and just making appointments around the times we want to visit our children but that's not going to be a good idea if we really begin to have major health problems. Right now it's just arthritis and high blood pressure for the most part. Am having surgery soon for bone spurs, and shoulder problems that is going to entail a daily trip to therapy for 6 weeks. If something like this happens again where would I go for surgery or daily therapy and not have to drive over an hour one way? Really concerned.

I have tried to post relating to bringing clinics to underserved areas of OK. The forum moderator has removed them because they are not considered relocation inquiries.

This insures that relocation will continue to be primarily FROM the area for those like yourself.
