You are, of course, aware that big pharma, big insurance, hospitals, and nursing homes are aggressively combating any health care program that will reduce their billions in profits, right?

I would be VERY cautious about accepting the word of anyone making an unsupported blanket statement from either side. Read it for yourself if you want to be informed. It's available.

Thank you, but I am not thinking I 'deserve' it. I do not deserve it anymore than anyone else. I am thinking it did not used to be the government's responsibility to provide health care for all....

The proposed bill is online at several locations. I agree with GP that you should read through most of the proposed bill.

I would also like you to read through my previous posts about how big government has wasted so many billions of our tax money (and this is aimed at "Dubya" as much as anybody; I couldn't stand the guy). For instance, spending approximately 400 BILLION dollars on medicare, which has a tad over 43 MILLION customers. Medicare, a government controlled health program has wasted, frauded, and abused BILLIONS of dollars. I have yet to see ANYONE reputably debate the abuse and fraud with government run health care to date on this thread. All I've seen is deflection and obfuscation, which is a typical ploy of those who are for this type of plan. Tell me that 400 billion dollars to take care of 43 million is right. Please tell me how that is right?

Read the following posts that are filled with FACTS.

Of the 30 most industrialized nations in the world, we rank 29th in infant mortality.

Of the 30 most industrialized nations in the world, we rank 24th in life expectancy.

By 2016, it is estimated that health care is going to consume 50% of the nations GDP.

We are currently paying 200% of the nearest nation in health care costs.

Now tell me how having a doctor having to call the insurance company before he can treat you is superior to the Canadian, Australian, Japanese, or European systems.

I frequently have a hassle with the pharmicist when I am refilling a prescription, because of the insurance's regulations...and we are on Humana.

I want a knee replacement when I turn 75, so I can keep skiing until I am 95. I'll even pay a 50% co pay. How about them apples?

I don't even care about Health Care anymore, I find the Fascist tactics of the A.M.A. hiring thugs to bus Stormtroopers to meetings repugnant

You bring up rational points GP. I do not deny that. This is why I like arguing with you. You are a sane person.
