We are planning on moving to Duncan and are trying to find out about various neighborhoods. We want somewhere as safe as possible, especially since we have small children but our budget is only the $60,000-75,000 range. We've found a couple of houses we like. One is on Devonwood, the other on Eastland. Does anyone know if these are in decent areas? Are there any specific areas to avoid? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jadeswan Devonwood and Eastland are both in the older part of Duncan, not far from our house! Have you been down this way to look around yet? Both streets have decent homes and a few that are not so nice, but neither are in a "high crime area" IMO.

If you want to DM me the addresses I would be happy to go look at the neighborhoods and send you some pictures.

Let me know.

Wow, LadyRobin, that is so sweet of you to offer to take pictures for us! We have driven around the neighborhood a couple of times so I guess I won't take you up on that but I sure do appreciate it. It's really nice to hear from some one who lives in that area because it's hard to tell a lot just by driving around. I don't care if the neighborhood is older as long as it's reasonably safe. I've heard some conflicting opinions about that part of town so I especially want to do my research before committing to live there for many years. I really like the town of Duncan. When I was growing up we always did our shopping there and people were very polite and friendly. You can imagine my shock when I left home and had to live in Lawton for a while. LOL!

I use to the live up in that area. Only a few blocks from LadyRobyn. I really liked it up there. I always felt safe. I had to move for finacial reasons. I'm still only less than 5 min's away.

Thanks, MK. it's really nice to hear that you felt safe there. It certainly seems nice just driving through. Our original favorites are already under contract but we made on offer on a house in that same area so hopefully we'll be Duncan residents too soon.
