Want to invest in boat on best lake.
What is the prettiest lake in Ok that has the best bass fishing and is cheap for a marina spot? I want to buy a large boat with a friend and we are trying to decide what lake is best for the buck. thanks

Grand Lake
Its hard to go wrong in Northeast OK. I moved to Grand Lake about a year ago and love it. Last year ESPN brought the BassMaster tournament here. We have our own slip so I am not sure about prices. I do remember at one of the resorts that I did a webpage for one of the resorts. Here are their rates:

Grove is a fun little town. Decent night-life for a lake town. Got a Super Walmart, Lowes and now Walgreens. Lots of fishing guide services and all sorts of festivals throughout the year.

thankyou
Thanks for the reply. I have been to Grand lake and it is beautiful(very clear and great bass),but I have also heard it is very expensive. Im thinking its really near tulsa. I dont care about it being close to tulsa at all, but my friend lives in chandler and we both want to find a lake where we can meet up for the occasion. We would like to find something probably more SE than NE. It doesnt have to be the absolute best. I will take any other suggestions. I just know that Grand will be out of our price range. We are hunting for a smaller lake that would just love any new comers.

Coming from Austin TX I am very familiar with lakes and what makes them good. Everyone had different things they like about lakes but since I have lived in Oklahoma I would have to say Texoma is the best. It's big and offers things to do on the lake where most lakes in ok do not. I like entertainment to be there if you want it or just a good place to go eat and Texoma offers all the above. Lots of good people go to that lake and it has a great reputation. Good Luck!!

I have been out to lake Texoma before. But is it a man made lake? I am trying to look for a smaller natural one. Maybe I just need to go out and look again at Texoma. I have been looking at Broken Bow/Hugo lake in way SE part of the state. They say it is the prettiest part of the state w/the nicest lake. I dont know?? Thankyou for responding

Broken Bow is the most beautiful lake in Oklahoma and it's not even close.
Next would be (in no particular order......Sardis/Clayton.........McGee Creek, Tenkiller, Grand, Wister and perhaps Spavinaw. I am not as familiar with the lakes in NE Oklahoma as other posters and I am sure they are nice......
But Broken Bow is spectacular...........One guy I know refers to it as "Hillbilly Tahoe."

Well it looks like I will be a hillbilly for 3 weeks out of the summer- thanks for the info.LOL.- But aint those lakes you mentioned all in the NE part of the state? Still deciding...Hugo/Broken Bow, Grand and- Texoma, because of all the attractions. Didnt Dennis Rodman cruise that big boy lake with a bad boy cigar? Yee Ha!

Happytown, have you decided on a lake yet? We aren't familiar with the lakes so we're not qualified to make a comparison, BUT Grand Lake is fabulous!!! You had mentioned that it's expensive there and it is a bit more so then a lot of areas of OK, but we've done a bit of checking and it's not that bad YET. But our circumstances are different cause if we bought there, it would be a year-round home.
