Default Anyone from Seminole out there who knows about Maud area

Anyone reading the forum who lives in or near Seminole may have some insight on the Maud, OK area (11 miles from Seminole). Would appreciate any comments on the area. Thanks.

I have lived in Maud for 5 years. Maud is a very small town, and everybody knows everybody else. The schools are okay and the people here are pretty friendly.

The Maud area is pretty, rolling hills, wooded areas, fields with cows, etc.

I go through Maud every once in a while. It is a really small town in a rural, agricultural area. One good thing about Maud is access to stores, malls, etc in Seminole and Shawnee with not much traffic or hassle, while being able to live way out in the peaceful area.

Default Relocating to Seminole with a Gov't job

I accepted a position in Seminole OK and I am looking for any information anyone has on the area. I will have to rent a place and put children in elementary and middle school. Also I am interested in surrounding towns that are within 20 minutes driving distance.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

What are you looking for in the surrounding towns? Seminole and Wewoka are pretty much all there are in that part of the country within 20 minutes. Shawnee is about 30 minutes away and is larger than Seminole or Wewoka.

If you want to visit Sasakwa or Bowlegs have at it...

There are quite a few people who live in Holdenville and work in Seminole, it's about 25 miles away, but in a different county. As for rentals, check with the real estate offices, most of them do rentals as well as sales. If you want names, phone numbers, or websites, DM me. The real estate offices here cover a lot more area than just the towns they are located in, and the agents could tell you a lot about the various towns as well.

Remember, you've gotta go through Bowlegs to get to Maud. Sorry.

Since I've already hijacked the thread, I must list some more Oklahoma towns. Sallisaw Henrietta Wagoner Catoosa.

OK, I'll shut up now.
