It's between Talihena, OK and Mena, AR and so it's name. I've been on it a couple of times. It's nice. It's been so long ago, I've forgotten if there's anything not to miss.

Here is a link to information on Talimena Drive. It's beautiful, especially this time of year. I drive part of it a few times a year going to the doctor but I never take the time to just enjoy it so I can't recommend any particular thing to look for. Just the beautiful scenery is enough for me Talimena Scenic Drive in Oklahoma and Arkansas

It's a nice drive. Especially now with the fall colors. It makes you feel like you're not in Oklahoma anymore. We were down there in the spring.

Since you are a good driving distance away, I would come over to Talihina this Friday evening if possible or early Saturday morning and attend part of the Fall Festival Saturday, October 24th. Talihina, Oklahoma

Then start at the west end of the Talimena drive, just 8 miles out of Talihina, and stop at all the scenic turnouts until you reach Queen Wilhelmena Lodge. Queen Wilhelmina State Park - Arkansas State Parks

Have dinner and spend the night in the great stone lodge. After your meal take a stroll as the sun sets and then catch the glitter of lights from the distant small towns and homes scattered across the valley below. On a clear night when the night sky is lit with stars, the sight from atop the mountains is one you will remember for a long time.
