I am looking for a rent house in Mcalester, but seems everything is too expensive or too small. The paper only has a few listings, is there any other way to get more listings for Rentals here? Or if anyone knows of some...I would love feedback.

I would call real estate agents and see what they know. One company I think first realty has tons of rentals. If their all rented I wouldn't know but I doubt if they advertise. Why are you moving to McAlester.

My husband may be relocating to McAlester for a year or so. We are waiting to hear for sure (Army). We may only have a few weeks notice before he needs to report.
I will be staying here are home in Arkansas, but need to find a rental for him. Basically a place to lay his head at night and wash his clothes. McAlester is only about 4.5 hours away, so he will be coming home a few times a month. Any ideas? I have searched online and am coming up empty. I will try to call some of the local relators tomorrow.
Thanks!
Amanda

Rentals are not cheap in McAlester because of the oil companies. Did the base get rid of the base homes? I see there are several on base next to boomer lake. They may have closed them though. It seems the Army should help.

To the best of my knowledge, there aren't any housing options on base. He is a civilian, so that might make a difference as well.

My husband is a civilian too. Will he be part of the base or DAC. I do know of one civilian lady who lived on base. There is base housing but not sure if it is open. Have him check. Also, if he is just TDY they would pick it up. Is he permanent?
