It is a page meant to get a number for how many people support the Route 64 I made up, or just Northwest Omaha bus service in general... If you have not seen the route yet, here is a link: http://www.city-data.com/forum/attac...-transfers.jpg

There is a possibility, no matter how stubborn MAT might be, that this will at least support some kind of Northwest Omaha service research at MAT. So please, if you have any interest in making Omaha Metro Area Transit's service any better. If you have a facebook account, of course.

Thank you.

Great idea but the ridership is pretty low in that area to be placed. BTW route #'s 61-67 are designated for CWS shuttles only. So maybe 73? lol

what make you think it will be low? did everyone in that area of town say it is going to be low.

give it a chance. some people dont want to give things in omaha a chance and we darn well deserve a better bus service in omaha.

the 73 or 54 would be good route numbers. mat can always change a cws shuttle number of there's (there is no 62 you know)

so there can be a route 64

btw: there was years ago a route 72 which went up to Immanuel hospital.

maybe since route 25 http://www.metroareatransit.com/images/25map300dpiGRY_4-2010.jpg (broken link)

got to be a route again recently after 15 years and it's route a little different the original,

maybe a second chance for there to be a route 72 could happen in a different area of omaha.

There used to be a 25? I thought it was all new. Where did it go? Was it a circulator still?

Also, the only reason I named it "route 64" is because it runs along West Maple Road and it is Highway 64, so I thought it was fitting. It dowsn't matter to me what it would be in the end, I kind of just want it to happen, or just Northwest Omaha service in general.

By the way, here I have tweaked the Route 64 to make it possible to have Village Pointe service withoute the Route 19 I had made earlier.

So here is the route as it would be if absolutely no other routes were changed or added. Let me know what you think of this.

Alright, here, I tweaked it even a little bit more and I think this is the most adequate route. The 64 is about 8 minutes longer of a route, so I had to tweak the route and schedule to allow it, but it works and this 64 is inclusive of all popular placed in Elkhorn, north of Dodge.

the 64/65 looks good

the old 25 if I remember correctly went through mid-town somewhere. it was the late 80's and early 90's I last remember that route running.

there used to also be routes

6 (south omaha route ???)

12 (which went down pacific near 120th)

19 (near bryan high)

28 (?)

31 (near hwy 680 and 30th street. inter-twined with the 30 as I recall. the route 31 ended near hwy 680 and 48th street.

33 (?)

38 (?)

40 (downtown to veterans hospital and to metro college in south omaha)

52 (?)

72 (went to Immanuel hospital and ???

77 (bluffs run casino route)

111 (mid-town route, dont remember where exactly)

and a route A (which was basically what is now called the 32)

as well as express routes 70/90/99

and I think there were a couple of other non-existent routes also.

wasnt there used to be route 29, that ran via abbott drive to the carter lake area? (sometime in the 80's and until it ended in the early 90's).

as well as in route 36, that ran paralell to the route 30, that ran to the florence area?

as well as a route 46, that ran somewhere in council bluffs. (im thinking circa early 90's)

if someone remebers, tell me about it
