I do not work for the media and don't live in Omaha, but I do watch the nightly news at 10pm.
While you think the media doesn't do a good job, they do stay in business by having an audience which draws advertisers and make them a profit.

If you think it is so terrible and you could do so much better, you are free to invest your own money or get investors (that have the same opinion as you) and start your own media outlet.

I don't see a problem with it, maybe they aren't as professional as I'd like it to be but they do a pretty good job. I've seen newscasts at other cities and it could be worse, much worse. As far as wishing Omaha a Merry Christmas, I like that too.

Day in the life of the heartland is an interesting idea, of course I did nothing that day so I didn't take any pictures.

I will say I get embarassed the way they chase after celebrities. I remember a time when Harrison Ford's plane had a problem and landed in Lincoln, they rushed over there to get the big story and it made headline news, it was so embarassing. Seriously they acted like it was some amazing thing that celebrities come here, well they do but they do a good job blending in, I wonder if they realize that. There was another time Mel Gibson was at the CWS and they were chasing him down, he was nice and just said 'go __' w/e team he was there for but ran off quickly. Please just leave them alone unless they want to talk to you.
