Default Thank you Nebraskans.

Wow ! I'm impressed. When the court in Iowa O.K.'d same-sex marriage I was surprised. I was equally surprised to see all of the
progressive responses to this post. We can all put groups of people
in a box and label it. I am guilty of doing that to middle America but
you have all pleasantly proven me wrong. Thank you Nebraskans for enlightening me.

Well being 3 of the people in this conversation are gay (me included), and that Omaha for the most part is a very moderate city it should be this way.

How does gay marriage make business more competitive and attractive? Are businesses that support a traditional view of marriage not competitive and attractive? All I was saying is that gay money spends the same as straight money and if people want to give money to you, it makes business sense to accept it.

Well...regarding the OWH's decision to announce same-gender "weddings"....that is their decision to make. It's a free market. They can do what they want--they're not a state-run newspaper. Of course, if other people choose not to buy their paper because of it, they have to deal with that. My guess is that they apparently decided they'd make more money off of the announcements than they'd lose by doing them.

Again....that's their decision to make.

I'm not aware of any. But you continue to harp on it, which I find sad. You need to be more accepting of others and less intolerant.

So do you.

Can you show me where I've been intolerant? I'm not denying anyone any rights, nor do I suggest we should. I also am not going to call anyone any names or accuse them of being racists or bigots for daring to disagree with me.

Were the quotations necessary? Honestly what makes your love so much better than theirs? Some old jewish laws, most of which society ignores while choosing a select few to beat down on?

I think he used the term to mean what the state calls a "wedding" not necessarily what he or many others would call a "wedding". There is a state "legal wedding" and a "wedding" which is the marriage of two people according to God's plan. These two types are becoming more and more polarized every day.

As for the love comment. Nothing. No love is greater than the love God has for his children. People are free to love whomever they wish.

1. Yes, the quotes were necessary. I don't consider them to be weddings.

2. How is love relevant to this issue. I'm not sure we were discussing love, were we?

2. I don't much care about old Jewish laws in regards to this topic. Why do you feel Jewish Law is relevant at this point?

Because the old Jewish laws is where our religion gets its source for an excuse to go against homosexuality even though Jesus himself said nothing about the subject.
