millard north is way more diverse racial and economically than Millard South and Millard West

MW has the "I am better than everyone attitude". t

his btw is the school's theme song since they always try to act hip for being rich spoiled kids

there is a running joke for MN and Burke: (who are rivals)

those who cant make it at Millard North go to Omaha Burke

those that Omaha Burke dont want, they dump on Millard North.

(both are great schools and that is a joke some MN and Burke grads told me)

Well Bellevue schools are pretty good and they both have reputations for having phenomenal bands. I think they're pretty average in sports and I have no clue about their choirs.

I went to bellevue west and graduated there, and i *LOVED* it. Great education, great arts program if you ask me. I was in the marching band as well as 2 art classes and really enjoyed my time at that school. Sports program is pretty good too, especially track/field. I think their football team is a little lower now though.

My little sister went to bellevue east. She wasnt into those things, but she was on the school paper. I'm not trying to dig on bellevue east, but it was a little more run down and generally was not as high as bellevue west was on academics. Either school is pretty good though, much better than OPS (in my opinion). But, of those two, I personally recommend West.

West has lots of military kids in it too, but I will agree that neither school is overly diverse, but atleast at West, there wasnt any hatred or bigotry to the ones who were of other races. I cannot speak of East since I wasnt there. West also has some great computer classes. When I was a senior they started offering Cisco Networking classes.. i mean graduating highschool with a CCNA! You have to start that class as a junior though, as the classes are two years worth.

West's teachers really identify with students. My teachers there had such a huge impact on my life. I went to Omaha north for half of my highschool years and I couldnt tell you a single teacher's name there, but at bellevue west, i could rattle off atleast half a dozen teacher's names who really helped me.

If there's anything in specific i can answer for you about west, let me know.

I attended Northwest for a spell and HATED it. It's a lot like Norht as far as gangs, violence....However for most of my high school year I went to Central which was amazing. I wasn't into sports so I don't know specific stats but I know they won a lot of things when I was there (3 yrs ago) I believe it's the biggest OPS school (may have changed) and is by far the most diverse. The big difference I noticied at Central is that everyone knew how to at least be civil to each other. I feel at Northwest it was very 'clique like' and no one spoke or was nice to people outside of their group. At Central, you had basketball players who were best friends with the skaters and etc and so forth. It is a very accepting school, so to speak and your kids would make friends very quickly. There's also A LOT of extra curricular activities. And it's smack dab in the middle of Omaha, so you're not in Extreme North O or South O or way out west, as with most other schools.

HOME

I have a good friend that went to Bellevue West and she loved it but I don't know much about the actual school.

when did you go to northwest? i went there from 94 and 96 and it wasnt gangs, it wasnt some of the wackjob staff members that caused me to transfer to omaha north

and I agree it was clique like at NW in my day, but I have made friends with a lot of NW 98 and 99 folks since then and some of them now arent clique types, they are friends to anyone.

Westside has people from 50 different countries. They've got a flag hanging from the ceiling in the cafeteria from every country. it adds to the nice feeling of the place.

Westside sounds like it's doing pretty well for football this year, which surprises me a lot. They're 2-1 right now and finally beat Prep this year. They make me mad, cause they couldn't pull off crap during my senior year Anyway though, best of luck Westside.

I am a North high grad and proud of it. If Westside can beat Millard West at football that would make my day.

MW is the one school everyone wants to beat. not just cause of MW being full of arrogance and were better than everyone attitude (both it's reps and students/staff)

and Westside or Omaha North or Millard North or Omaha Central or even Omaha Benson (not likely Benson would beat them) beating MW counts as a ego bruising moment IMO for millard west.
